BeautifuLiguria is an “unconventional” travel company which mission is to be the reference point for those who want to experience and explore more about the Italian Riviera outside the conventional schemes and immerse themselves with its traditions, culture, medieval villages, discover the real tastes and scent of an extraordinary cuisine, enjoy its crystalline sea, meet the local people.
Trusting in this kind of travel which is more careful about the territory, the people who live it every day, the authenticity and respect of the places visited, we have decided to start BeautifuLiguria project to allow people to discover the Italian Riviera more intimately, feeling as a local.
We are a team of passionate and professional people from Liguria. We know every corner of this unspoiled region and we want to share our knowledge of the beauties, the culture, and the history in which we are immersed every day in, with all the people who love Liguria and a new way to experience it!
But, let’s go further and meet the founders, Anna and Emanuela, who have different stories but the same passion for their BeautifuLiguria!
Anna was born in Italy, but grew up in US. Since her very young age she traveled and lived other countries without stopping till nowadays. She speaks English and Russian and considers herself a travel addict: she loves to explore the authentic part of a country, its culture and traditions.
After graduating in Tourism Business and achieving a master degree in management and tourist marketing she started to work in the tourism sector in Italy and abroad such as Finland where, a part of being able to resist to very low temperatures, she worked as a territorial marketing and promotional consultant for the tourist office.
In 2009 she understands that the region where she lives is unknown to many people and decides to found BeautifuLiguria blog with the aim to share and let people know more about the authentic beauties of Liguria: her passion was becoming her job! She started to collaborate with some journalistic magazines where she speaks about the Italian Riviera and Italy, till one day the BBC knocks at her door to ask a collaboration for the TV programme “Two Greedy Italians”: that was incredible!
In 2012 she decides to expand her project transforming it in a business. Meanwhile she meets Emanuela who has her same travel philosophy and with her founds BeautifuLiguria travel company.
After a degree in foreign languages (English and Spanish) with a specialization in art history, she begins working in marketing and communication. In 15 years she creates a lot of successful communication strategies for many brands, she grows up 3 children and from Milan she comes back to live in her native Liguria, in Nervi, a charming village on the sea, next to Genoa, where it looks as to be on holiday all the time.
She loves to travel, geography and maps (especially dear, old paper ones) and she always had the dream to work with travels or, better, to make people travel like she likes to travel: looking for authenticity, out of the beaten tracks.
She knows that Liguria has these characteristics, but many people don't even know where it is. Emanuela thinks that Liguria, with a good marketing strategy, would become a great destination for niche, cultural travels, thanks to the exceptional mix of nature (sea and mountains in one glimpse), art, history, tastes and authenticity still to be discovered. When she knows Anna and her successful English blog, she understands that there is a big opportunity to make her passion become a job and she decides to join Anna to found Beautiful Liguria.
